Morning Moon

I woke this morning to see the nearly full moon lurking behind the very dramatic twilight clouds charged with movements of deep navy blues and muted golds.  Even though the moans of this eerie sky were loud and clear, I knew catpuring those emotions wouldn’t be easy.  Still in my jam-jams I needed to shoot from the window without a tripod….this scene would end very soon.  I’m not going to lie to you….I was only guessing at the camera settings and was mostly disappointed in the results.  I sat on it for a while and decided to make an arty example of the best image.

This is the original – brightened to show some of the ambient light I saw.

I took this image to CS5, added some textures, blending modes and cropping and this is what I came up with.  I’m not too sure of it, but I really liked the mountain shape in the clouds.  It gives the image a surreal quality.  I think it would be great printed and stretched on a canvass. What do you think??
